About Hero

Waipipi School uses Hero, a secure school management system (SMS), to share learning, reporting, communication, and school administration. Hero brings together everything you need to stay connected with your child's school life, accessible on any device.  

Using the Hero app, whānau can:

• View mid year and end of year reports
• Read and comment on school notices sent to the class or groups your child is part of
• Respond to surveys and trip permission requests
• View school term dates and a calendar of events
• Notify the school if your child is absent or late
• Book parent-teacher interviews
• Navigate to other school-related web pages 

Created by educators, Hero is trusted by schools across New Zealand for its ease of use and robust security, including holding the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) badge - a recognised standard for student data privacy in New Zealand schools.

Hero Notifications

Hero keeps you informed with timely notifications so you never miss an update about your child's learning or school life. You'll receive a notification when a new post is published - either as an in-app notification if you're logged into the Hero app, or by email if you're not currently logged in. In all cases, the notification will direct you to Hero to view the full post.  

You can adjust notification preferences in your account settings.
